Active device installs
Google Play's measured count of devices that currently have your app installed, reported daily in the Play Console statistics exports.
Active device installs is a Google Play metric: the number of Android devices that currently have your app installed, as measured by Google. It answers a different question than daily installs. Daily installs count the flow of new downloads on a given day; active device installs describe the stock, the install base your app has accumulated after all installs and uninstalls.
The figure is measured by Google, not calculated. You cannot reliably reconstruct it by subtracting uninstalls from installs, because devices get reset, replaced, or go offline. Google reports the measured number per day in the Play Console's statistics exports, alongside daily installs and uninstalls.
Apple has no equivalent metric. App Store Connect sales reports contain download counts only, with no uninstall data and no installed-devices figure, so a true install base over time is only visible for Google Play apps.
On AppTracker, active device installs are imported from your Play Console statistics exports and shown as the "Installed devices" view on the Downloads page, next to the daily install flow and your keyword rankings.
